BankSA interest rate now tops the banks

by Fred Wilson 1/04/2008

BankSA now has the highest variable home loan interest rate of all 0.10 per cent rate rise yesterday to  9.47 per cent.

The bank claims the rise is due to increased funding costs.

``We recognise that any increase to rates does affect our customers and that it is an important issue for many people in South Australia and Northern Territory,'' BankSA general manager Chris Ward said.

BankSA customers will feel the impact in a $17 monthly increase on a $250,000 home loan.

BankSA is a Division of St.George Bank Limited.
